FASTING

The three main types of fasting promoted at the Centre (www.dkhcunderstanding.blogspot.com), by the Trust (www.trustunderstanding.blogspot.com) and at the Ashram (www.ashramunderstanding.blogspot.com) are:

Fasting Schedule No.1
Stop eating all cooked food. Stay on raw food, juice.

This fasting has a good cleansing effect. It will help detoxify your system. If you are attempting this fasting for the first time, it is advisable to shift on raw food gradually. Raw vegetables, fruits, juices, sprouted grains and lentils, dates, dry fruits etc. may be taken that can be taken raw.

You may experience nausea, headache, vomiting, burning urine, itch etc. as common cleansing symptoms.
If you are not used to taking raw fruits and vegetables etc., and if you have much accumulated toxins, then these symptoms can be fairly severe also.

Fasting Schedule No.2 (In conjunction with Energy Healing)
Stop eating all vegetables, fruits, sugar, honey, dairy products and spices etc. Remain only on grains, and only use rock salt. Grains may be cooked and you can even mix grains. Sprouted grains and lentils can be used raw or they can be steamed. You can use barley, maize etc. You can also use popped-corns.

The total amount of fluid intake every 24 hours is restricted, and you must follow this limitation very strictly. In cool weather do not take more than 300 m.l, in slight warm weather do not take more than 400 m.l and in warm weather do not take more than 450m.l.


You may plan three meals in a day, do not eat too much and chew the food well while eating. You can take a little butter with the meal. Your cooked grain with two table spoon sprouted suffices for a meal.

You can take black or lemon tea or lemon water, in between the meals; but keep check on the total amount of fluid intake.

You can plan your fast for any period from 1 to 30 days. Assess for yourself keeping in view your physicians advise, how many days you can stay on this fast. Fasting in this manner for 2-5 days also yields good results.

If you are continuing for more than ten days, you can add two table spoonful of vegetables to the meal (do not use tomato, potato and brinjal); these vegetables can be used raw or cooked with the grain.

If you are continuing for more than twenty days, you can further add four resins and a single fruit (banana, apple, pear, orange, guava) to the meal (try eating the fruit an hour before the meal).

Fasting Schedule No.3
Stop all food and fast on auto urine.

Those who are practicing auto urine therapy, can stay on this type of fasting. Stop intake of all food. Stay only on auto-urine and water.

Give your body a little rest and stop taking rich proteins and fats a day or two before the fast. During the fast ingest all the urine during the day (stop ingesting urine an hour before the bed time).

You can plan your fast for any period between 1 to 4 days, or even longer. Assess for yourself keeping in view your physicians advise, how many days you can stay on this fast. Fasting in this manner for 1-4 days also yields good results.

When staying on longer fasts with auto-urine, keep watch on acidosis. Discontinue the fast if acidosis is indicated.

IMPORTANT

1. All fasts tend to cleanse the system.

2. Assess and confirm for yourself the merits of a particular fast before attempting any particular type of fasting.

3. Keep in view your physicians advise. If you have serious health concerns like diabetes, blood pressure or heart problem etc. please talk to your physician about them in detail.

4. You can repeat a particular type of fast or alternate with different type of fasts. The more accumulation of toxins you have and the more toxin producing life style you are following the more fating will be required. You have to be your own judge. Gradually, your system will start telling you when you need to fast.

5. It has also been observed that the more the accumulated toxins in your body, more will be the weakness or debility you feel in the initial stages of cleansing. It is good to start gradually, if you find the weakness too severe to bear. Repeating after small intervals, that suit your condition. After two or three repetitions you will feel lesser amount of weakening effect.
