MEDITATION

Our soul and mind in this body are subjected to various pulls into the external world, through different senses. The soul and the mind are all the time pulled into some feeling or the other, relating to worldly affairs; for this reason they are both under a great restless stress. An effort to get farther from the thinking mind (ever active) and to bring some relaxation to the mind, body or to the soul is the real and sole purpose of the process of MEDITATION.

I would like to share my experiences with regard to meditation, as a Natural Healer and also with regard to my experiences in Higher Spirituality.

One has to clearly understand that the purpose of meditation for the body or the mind, is very different from the purpose of meditating for the soul. I have often found people confused between the two.

1. Meditation for Body or Mind.

The purpose of meditating for the body or the mind is meant to energize/relax (or both) the body or the mind (or both) and is more of a physical or mental exercise. Howsoever advanced you may become in these technique it can never be a meditation for the soul. Meditation for the body/mind is a one way traffic, directed through your physical and mental ability. It's success can be judged by the amount of relaxation/energization you get for the body or the mind. It can never, in any real sense reach the soul. The highest advancement that you can get from this type of meditation in the spiritual direction is the betterment of the pineal gland, that may strengthen your spiritual bend, but nothing more than that.

A very effective method, named as Energy Meditation, used at our centre (www.dkhcunderstanding.blogspot.com) is being given here:

Hold the fingers of each hand, one by one, for two minutes with the other hand. You have only to cup the fingers lightly, not to apply any pressure. Fix the attention at the tip of the finger you are holding, transfer the energy you are inhaling with the breath, to the finger, gradually sliding your attention to the root of the finger, when you reach the root of the finger, direct your mind to leave the energy there and gradually shift your attention to the tip of the finger, again repeating the operation. You may have a feeling of relaxation and subtlety of breath, and you may not feel like following the rhythm; do not worry about the rhythm, relax for a while and start again.

When you are done with all the ten fingers. Start with five internal organs, liver, (green) heart(red), kidney(blue), lungs(white) and spleen(yellow). While concentrating on these organs visualize these organs to be of the color mentioned against each of these organs. When you are fairly comfortable with the practice, you can start mental repetition of sounds connected to these organs, liver (shhhh), heart(Hau), kidney(chew), lungs(ssss) and spleen(whhoo). While inhaling and transferring the energy to a particular organ visualize the organ in its respective color and while exhaling, mentally repeat the respective sound, you have not to produce any sound loud.

When you are done with all the five organs. Shift your attention to the crown chakra (on the top of your head). Stay here for two minutes, transferring energy from your breath and leaving the energy there while exhaling. Then one by one, very slowly shift to the third eye chakra (between your eyes), then to the throat chakra (throat), heart chakra (solar plexus), navel chakra (navel), private part, root chakra (almost the centre of the nerve between your private part and the rectum), base of the spine, top of the spine, then to the top of the head again. You may end at the third eye or the navel chakra, as the case may be. If you are meditating for some spiritual advancement it is better to end up at the third eye, otherwise end up at the navel chakra.

After mastering the basic technique, you can develop further into managing your internal and meditational energies.

2. Meditation for the Soul.

The Mediation for the soul is very different, and it's success totally depends on the amount of contact you develop with some higher power. The meditation for the soul is a two way traffic, you move in one direction and the response comes from there 'Yes, I am here', then the two of you are together. Degrees and ways of this togetherness can be different depending on many many other factors, but by all means, meditation for the soul has to be two way traffic.

It is very important for the meditation of the soul that you have some definite divine power whom you are trying to establish contact with. The success of your meditation will depend on the degree of contact you are able to build up with that divine power. May be one day, you will find yourself in a position when your contact with that particular divine power becomes an effortless exercise.
